The chief conductor of the South Ural philharmonic orchestra is Adik Abdurakhmanov. He is the Honourable Artist of the Russian Federation, a graduate of the St. Petersburg and Ural conservatories. His achievements are honoured with the commendations by V. Spivakov’s international charity foundation, New Names international charity foundation, Union of composers of Russian Federation.
As a soloist and a conductor he toured throughout Russia, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Latvia, and Lithuania. He is the art director of the Chelyabinsk branch of the New Names interregional charity foundation, which supports gifted young musicians. He is a founder, art director and chief conductor of the children’s chamber orchestra «Young Klassika» the purpose of which is professional formation and development of young musicians. A. Abdurakhmanov is a professor and the head of the department of orchestra, string, wind and percussion instruments of Chelyabinsk state institute of culture. A lot of A. Abdurakhmanov’s pupils are laureates of all-Russia and international musical contests; some of them work in the leading orchestras of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Switzerland, the USA and Israel.
